FAQs

Are bimpi bags child proof?
We use an auto lock zip system and remove the zip tag. The bimpi bag can only be opened by inserting a paper clip into the zip.
For additional safety in environments where there are babies and toddlers, we recommend to use a removable bimpi liner which contains the polystyrene beans.

What material is a bimpi bag made from?
bimpi bags are made from Sunbrella® outdoor furniture fabric. We have chosen this fabric for its amazing durability. Refer to www.Sunbrella.com for more details.

What are the material specifications?
Sunbrella® outdoor furniture fabric is:
• water repellent (note, this will reduce after washing),
• mould & stain resistant, and
• will not fade in the sun.

We use bonded nylon thread which reduces any water travelling into the bimpi bag should it get wet.

The removable bimpi liner is made from a poly/cotton fabric.

Do bimpi bags have a warranty?
We guarantee all out bimpi bags. There is a 3 year warranty on the fabric and 1 year on the workmanship.

How do I clean my bimpi bag?
You can easily spot clean your bimpi bag by using warm soapy water.
You can also wash the bimpi bag cover in the washing machine on cold with mild detergent.
Do not dry clean or iron your bimpi bag.
We also advise to drip dry the bimpi bag to avoid unnecessary creases.

Do you have other fabric options available?
After having done lots of research on different fabric types, we haven’t found any other fabric that can provide the same specifications in terms of durability, colours and outdoor application. At this stage bimpi bags will only be available in Sunbrella® outdoor fabric.

Do you have other screen printing designs available other than the Tiki design?
Not at this stage. However, if you have a specific requirement, please contact us to discuss possible options.

Do you ship anywhere in the world?
Yes. Shipping charges are: New Zealand NZ$9.00 (tracked), Australia NZ$12.50 (tracked), USA NZ$19.50 (untracked). Please contact us for other shipping costs.

How do I remove the removable bimpi liner from my bimpi bag?
• Use a paper clip to open the bimpi bag.
• Gently pull out the removable bimpi liner by “massaging” the beans through the narrow part of the bimpi bag.

How do I insert the removable bimpi liner back into the bimpi bag?
Because bimpi bags have a narrow middle, to insert the removable bimpi liner takes a little bit of practice. Here are some tips:

• Place your bimpi bag flat on the floor.
• Shake all the beans to one end of the removable bimpi liner.
• Gently insert the end without beans into the bottom of the bimpi bag.
• Gradually massage beans down to the bottom of the bimpi bag.
• Once the bottom of the bimpi starts taking shape, gradually insert more of the removable bimpi liner and keep massaging the beans downwards as you go.
• Once the removable bimpi liner is inside the bimpi bag, close the bag.
• Some further massaging / kneading of the bimpi bag may be required to distribute the beans evenly and get the perfect bimpi shape.

When should I use a removable bimpi liner (a removable bimpi liner is a bag inside the bimpi bag containing the polystyrene beans)?

If you intent to use your bimpi bag outdoors where it can get wet, we recommend that you do not use a removable bimpi liner. This is to ensure your bimpi bag can dry easily in circumstances where water has entered the bag (e.g. rain, used on a boat, wet grass or the beach).

We recommend to use a removable bimpi liner:
• where potential spillage of the beans must be avoided under all circumstances, or
• where the cover is removed frequently to wash (e.g. in child care centres or environments with babies or toddlers).

Do you have other colours available?
Additional to our standard colour range (green, red, turquoise, orange, taupe) we can also make your bimpi bag in navy, forest green, black, or brown with a red, green or natural border. Please contact us if you have any other specific colour requirements.
